DNForum All Set to hold an Online Auction

DNForum is holding their first Online Auction in another 12 hours. Some nice names have been put up for sale including ABBC.com, Image-Gallery.com, NHQ.net, HostingScript.com, DNGuide.com, CrunkFest.com and a host of others. The hosts of the auction recently stated that their focus would be on getting better names and prices than playing with numbers. Looking at the list, I think they wouldn’t be dissapointed. What reserves have been put up, and whether the bidders meet them, remains to be seen.

Why Dont Two Word Generics Sell at Forums?

In the previous article I focused on domains that sold at forums. This time I’m going to list out the domains that, despite having an intrinsic value, don’t sell all that easily.  The ones leading the table are Two worders.

When CreativeShoppe.com did not sell, I wondered what the reason could be. Then I realized, that for two word generics or even mid-quality two worders, the price wasn’t well defined. As compared to LL/LLL/LLLL Dictionary domains which had a somewhat standard pricing, two worders weren’t that easy to appraise, and therefore put a price on.

Another reason is the narrow scope / niche of the domain. Each two worder is generally more concentrated on a niche. They have a small market for the quick flippers to work on.
