.Me is still continuing to receive Interest amongst the domainers.
As Justin mentioned at DNForum, the success rate of these new upcoming extensions (with very minimal exceptions like of .info), has been very low and there is nothing positive to indicate otherwise for this extension.
The registries are having a fun time making hay with every new extension which comes up. Now I agree that some names like Consolidate.me OR Resell.me or Blog.me or Monetize.me might be highly brandable, but they alone cannot make a whole new extension successful. For any extension to be successful, I believe it should point to a particular niche; or might be usable in a particular niche. Info rose as it clearly indicated the sites to be “Information” oriented, which is what the web is all about.

What madness!!!
The forums were full of .me buzz, and the chatrooms were a crazy place to be in. Domain names were being registered in a frenzy. Tempers were flying high because of GoDaddy messing up again (tell me something new).
Well i registered around 55 domains for fun, and then got rid of them all (dynadot is offering free grace deletions, full refund for .me). Why I decided to lose all the domains was simple. I’ve seen it happen before, at the .asia fanfare. And then it all dies. Same happened with .maybe (oops .mobi i mean). Right now, with all the hype about new extensions and stuff, the last thing I would want is to get stuck with a worthless extension for 2 years.
Lets see how it all turns out to be. This should be fun
